Getting started
A wizard will guide you through the steps to get your token and certificate up and running easily. This will apply to new users or users switching to another PC.

Plug and Transact getting started guide
Minimum PC requirements
64-bit operating systems can make use of 32-bit or 64-bit software but 32-bit operating systems can only use 32-bit software and not 64-bit software.
Windows PC
- Minimum operating system: Windows 7 (32 & 64bit)
- Browsers: Internet Explorer 11 or Google Chrome
- Type of tokens used: Green V3 token and Plug and Transact token
Apple Mac PC
- Minimum operating System: Mountain Lion (10.8)
- Browser for software user: Safari or Firefox
- Type of token used: Plug and Transact only
Download and save driver software
The software for this token can be obtained here (32-bit) or (64-bit). Download and save the .zip file. Please follow this link for information on how to update 64-bit drivers on windows 7 for the 'Version 1' token. |
Install software, activate token, configure computer and download certificate
1 Install the token software (you need administrator rights).
- Unzip the .zip driver software that was downloaded.
- Install the downloaded software (either 32-bit or 64-bit) by running the install file.
- Insert the token into a USB port.
- Restart your computer with the token in the USB port.
2 Startup token
- When the computer has restarted with the token in the USB port, you will be presented with a Change PIN window.
- Enter the default PIN 123456 in the Current PIN field.
- Enter a new PIN that also consists of six digits.
- Confirm the PIN by entering it in the Confirm new PIN field.
- Click on the Change PIN button.
- Then click on the OK button.
3 Add URLs to trusted sites
- In Internet Explorer click on Tools, then Internet options.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Trusted sites icon.
- Click on the Sites button.
- Untick the tickbox Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
- Add www.netbankbusiness.co.za, https://www.nedbank.co.za, https://businessbanking.nedsecure.co.za and *.nedsecure.co.za to the trusted sites.
- Reselect the tickbox Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
- Click on the Close button after adding the files.
- Click on the OK button.
4 Download the certificate onto the token
- Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
- Click on the Certificate download button.
- Enter your profile number.
- Enter your user ID.
- Enter the password you received in the letter from Nedbank.
- Click on the Proceed button.
- Change the password when you are prompted to do so by entering the default password into the Current password field.
- Enter your new password and confirm it by entering it again.
- Click on the Change password button (remember what the new password is).
- Enter your new six-digit PIN for the token when prompted to do so.
- Click on the OK button.
- The certificate will be downloaded to the token.
- Safely remove the token (see point 7).
Log on to NetBank Business
1 Insert the token.
2 Log on to NetBank Business by clicking on the Logon button at netbankbusiness.co.za.
3 Enter your new six-digit PIN for the token and click on the OK button.
4 Select the 'NetBank Business certificate'.
5 Enter your new password for NetBank Business in the Password field.
6 Select the Logon button.
How to use a different machine with the current token
1 Download and install the token software on the second computer (see point 1).
2 Add the URLs to the trusted sites (see point 3).
3 Go to netbankbusiness.co.za.
4 Click on the Intermediate certificate download button.
5 Click on the Yes button (you may need to do this more than once).
6 Log on to NetBank Business with your token as usual.
Safely remove the token
1 Click on the Safely remove hardware icon in the bottom right system icon tray.
2 Choose the Safely remove USB mass storage device option.

- • Java 7 version 25
- • IOS 10.7.5
- • Safari 6.0.5
- • Firefox 21
- If necessary, Mac drivers must be downloaded and installed.
- • Insert the token.
- • Click on the magnifying glass called Spotlight on the top right of your toolbar.
- • Do a search for PIN management.
- • You will be presented with a PIN management window.
- • Enter the default PIN 123456 in the Current PIN field.
- • Enter a new PIN consisting of six digits.
- • Confirm the PIN by entering it in Confirm new PIN.
- • Click on Change PIN.
- • Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
- • Click on Certificate Download.
- • Enter your profile number.
- • Enter your user ID.
- • Enter the password you received in the letter from Nedbank.
- • Click on Proceed.
- • Change the password and confirm it by entering your new password again.
- • Click on Change password.
- • Click on OK.
- • A window will pop up that asks: 'Do you want to run this application?', click on Run.
- • You will be prompted to enter your six-digit PIN.
- • A window will pop up that says: 'Block potentially unsafe components from being run'. Click on Don’t block when prompted.
- • The certificate will be downloaded to the token.
- • After the certificate has been downloaded, please remove the token and close the browser.
- • Insert your token.
- • Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
- • Click on the Login button.
- • Enter your six-digit PIN when prompted for your key chain password.
- • Select the certificate.
- • Enter your PIN when prompted.
