How to get started

64-bit operating systems can make use of 32-bit or 64-bit software but 32-bit operating systems can only use 32-bit software and not 64-bit software.

Windows PC

1. Minimum operating system: Windows 7 (32 & 64bit)
2. Browsers: Internet Explorer 11 or Google Chrome
3. Type of tokens used: Green V3 token and Plug and Transact token

Apple Mac PC

1. Minimum operating System: Mountain Lion (10.8)
2. Browser for software user: Safari or Firefox
3. Type of token used: Plug and Transact only

How to tell if you have Windows Vista 64-bit or 32-bit

1. Click on the Start button and then Control Panel.
2. Click on the System and Maintenance link.
3. In the System and Maintenance window, click on the System link.
4. When the System window opens, titled as View basic information about your computer, locate the System area below the oversized Windows logo.
5. In the System area, look for System type below the other statistics about your PC.

How to tell if you have Windows XP 64-bit or 32-bit

1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
2. Click on the Performance and Maintenance link.
3. In the Performance and Maintenance window, click on the System link.
4. When the System Properties window opens, locate the System area to the right of the Windows logo.
5. Under System: you'll see basic information about the version of Windows XP installed on your computer.

Important: There are no 64-bit versions of Windows XP Home or Windows XP Media Center Edition. If you have either of these editions of Windows XP then you're running a 32-bit operating system.

How to tell if you have Windows 7 64-bit or 32-bit

1. Click on the Start button and then Control Panel.
2. Click on the System and Security link.
3. In the System and Security window, click on the System link.
4. When the System window opens, titled as View basic information about your computer, locate the System area below the oversized Windows logo.
5. In the System area, look for System type among the other statistics about your computer.

How to tell if you have Windows 8 64-bit or 32-bit

1. Open the Windows 8 Control Panel.
2. Touch or click on System and Security within Control Panel.
3. With the System and Security window now open, click or touch System.
4. With the System applet now open, titled View basic information about your computer, find the System area, located under the large Windows 8 logo.

1 Install the token software (you need administrator rights).

• Unzip the .zip driver software that was downloaded.
• Install the downloaded software (either 32-bit or 64-bit) by running the install file.
• Insert the token into a USB port.
• Restart your computer with the token in the USB port.

2 Startup token

• When the computer has restarted with the token in the USB port, you will be presented with a Change PIN window.
• Enter the default PIN 123456 in the Current PIN field.
• Enter a new PIN that also consists of six digits.
• Confirm the PIN by entering it in the Confirm new PIN field.
• Click on the Change PIN button.
• Then click on the OK button.

3 Add URLs to trusted sites

• In Internet Explorer click on Tools, then Internet options.
• Click on the Security tab.
• Click on the Trusted sites icon.
• Click on the Sites button.
• Untick the tickbox Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
• Add www.netbankbusiness.co.za, https://www.nedbank.co.za, https://businessbanking.nedsecure.co.za and *.nedsecure.co.za to the trusted sites.
• Reselect the tickbox Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
• Click on the Close button after adding the files.
• Click on the OK button.

4 Download the certificate onto the token

• Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
• Click on the Certificate download button.
• Enter your profile number.
• Enter your user ID.
• Enter the password you received in the letter from Nedbank.
• Click on the Proceed button.
• Change the password when you are prompted to do so by entering the default password into the Current password field.
• Enter your new password and confirm it by entering it again.
• Click on the Change password button (remember what the new password is).
• Enter your new six-digit PIN for the token when prompted to do so.
• Click on the OK button.
• The certificate will be downloaded to the token.
• Safely remove the token (see point 7).

1 Insert the token.

2 Log on to NetBank Business by clicking on the Logon button at netbankbusiness.co.za.

3 Enter your new six-digit PIN for the token and click on the OK button.

4 Select the 'NetBank Business certificate'.

5 Enter your new password for NetBank Business in the Password field.

6 Select the Logon button.

1 Download and install the token software on the second computer (see point 1).

2 Add the URLs to the trusted sites (see point 3).

3 Go to netbankbusiness.co.za.

4 Click on the Intermediate certificate download button.

5 Click on the Yes button (you may need to do this more than once).

6 Log on to NetBank Business with your token as usual.

1 Click on the Safely remove hardware icon in the bottom right system icon tray.

2 Choose the Safely remove USB mass storage device option.

Setting up the Nedbank App Suite™ and NetBank Business Mobile

1 Download the Nedbank App Suite™ from any of the following app stores: Google Play/Apple iTunes Store/BlackBerry World.

2 Click on the Nedbank App Suite™ icon and follow the enrolment process:

   (a) Accept terms and conditions.

   (b) Select identity/passport number.

   (c) Capture identity/passport number and email address.

   (d) Create a five-digit PIN.

   (e) Name your device.

3 When all steps have been completed, you will receive a welcome message.

Steps to apply for NetBank Business Mobile

New NetBank Business clients: Contact us at business@nedbank.co.za for an application form.

Existing NetBank Business clients:

1 Complete the MR19 maintenance form to provide the NetBank Business administrators with access to NetBank Business Mobile.

2 A NetBank Business administrator with rights to maintain the profile can set up non-admin users.

   (a) Log on to netbankbusiness.co.za.

   (b) Select Admin>Users>Maintain users.

   (c) Click on the user requiring mobile access.

   (d) Change the mobile flag from 'No' to 'Yes'.

   (e) Authorise the above change

Once the user has access, follow the below steps to get started:

1 Open the Nedbank App Suite™ icon on your mobile device and click on the NetBank Business icon.

2 Capture your NetBank Business user ID and profile number and submit.

3 A list of instructions will be provided:

   (a) Log on to netbankbusiness.co.za.

   (b) Click on 'Admin', then on 'Mobile enrolment approval'.

   (c) Your mobile device(s) will be listed.

   (d) Approve your named device and then log off.

   (e) The selected device(s) will now be activated.

4 Click on the Nedbank App Suite™ icon on your device and then on the NetBank Business icon.

5 Capture the five-digit PIN that you used in the enrolment process.

6 Capture your password (this is the same password you use to log on to NetBank Business from a computer).

7 Click on 'Log on'.

8 Transact.

• If necessary, Mac drivers must be downloaded and installed.

 

Token startup

• • Insert the token.
• • Click on the magnifying glass called Spotlight on the top right of your toolbar.
• • Do a search for PIN management.
• • You will be presented with a PIN management window.
• • Enter the default PIN 123456 in the Current PIN field.
• • Enter a new PIN consisting of six digits.
• • Confirm the PIN by entering it in Confirm new PIN.
• • Click on Change PIN.

 

Download certificate

• • Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
• • Click on Certificate Download.
• • Enter your profile number.
• • Enter your user ID.
• • Enter the password you received in the letter from Nedbank.
• • Click on Proceed.
• • Change the password and confirm it by entering your new password again.
• • Click on Change password.
• • Click on OK.
• • A window will pop up that asks: 'Do you want to run this application?', click on Run.
• • You will be prompted to enter your six-digit PIN.
• • A window will pop up that says: 'Block potentially unsafe components from being run'. Click on Don’t block when prompted.
• • The certificate will be downloaded to the token.
• • After the certificate has been downloaded, please remove the token and close the browser.

 

Logging on

• • Insert your token.
• • Access the NetBank Business landing page at netbankbusiness.co.za.
• • Click on the Login button.
• • Enter your six-digit PIN when prompted for your key chain password.
• • Select the certificate.
• • Enter your PIN when prompted.
